It is that time of year again — when your seniors begin to realize that high school is almost over and the next phase of their life is around the corner. Students who applied to the colleges of their choice and received admission letters may now be wondering, “How will I pay for college?” Have no fear, the ASU Scholarship Portal is here! Encourage your students to use the portal to create profiles that will help them search more than 150 scholarships. Students can manage their applications, recommendation requests and bookmarked scholarships here. Arizona State University is proud to have founded and support the Public Service Academy, a new, innovative program that was featured in the October newsletter. This month ASU is sharing another big announcement with the start of the Next Generation Service Corps Scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIPS: For each year in the program, all resident and nonresident NGSC members will receive tuition gap-funding if needed and a monthly commitment stipend of $250 for 10 months.
The 2016-2017 application for Next Generation Service Corps is LIVE! Students need to apply to ASU first in order to access the NGSC application on the scholarship portal. The priority deadline is Friday, Jan. 15, 2016.
Leadership Scholarship Program Deadline: Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 The Leadership Scholarship Program (LSP) recognizes outstanding high school graduating seniors who have achieved excellence in leadership and service. Up to 25 students will be selected for the scholarship. Established in 1977 to develop exceptional leadership skills among promising scholars, this program has a long-standing history at Arizona State University. More than a scholarship program, LSP helps students become integral members of the university community. This scholarship requires counselors to complete a nomination form.
T.W. Lewis Foundation Scholarship Program Deadline: Jan. 15, 2016 The T.W. Lewis Foundation Scholarship provides a four-year award of $20,000 ($5,000 per year) for up to 10 outstanding student leaders each year from Maricopa County high schools starting as freshmen at Barrett, The Honors College. The purpose of the T.W. Lewis Scholarship Program is to provide high-potential student leaders with financial aid, learning opportunities and career counseling so that they can reach their full potential and have a positive impact on the world. Dorrance Scholarship Program Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 The Dorrance Scholarship for first-generation students is a need-based award providing financial and academic support for Arizona high school graduates pursuing undergraduate degrees at one of Arizona’s public universities. The award is renewable for a total of eight semesters (four years) of funding. Scholarships are renewed based on academic standing and participation in program events, activities and community service projects.
